Great Lakes Mechanical has been the mechanical contractor for the Erickson Retirement Community Fox Run Village since it's ground-breaking in 2001. Eventually, there will be more than twenty buildings on site. Currently, there are seven completed and two more under construction.
The entire campus is connected via a system of links so that residents never need to go outside to get from building to building. These links contain the piping necessary to tie the campus together mechanically. The main mechanical plant is located in a community building where residents gather for meals, etc. That plant holds a hot water system for perimeter heat for the community building and closed loop system that feeds the community building as well as five residential apartment buildings. All buildings are heated and cooled with heat pumps with the residential apartments utilizing stackable models.
